Spring has sprung in the parish. Parish children participated in the Junior Olympics recently at Davis Square Park, lead by Claudio Rivera. Later that same evening the biggest recital yet was held in Holy Cross Church. Approximately 80 children participated, including the newly formed band, the Parish Youth Mariachi, the Marimba Ensemble, the Girl’s Choir and the Children’s choir. The whole day was a celebration of “Día del Niño”, a popular Mexican day of festival dedicated to children. At the end of it all it took six gallons of ice cream to serve root beer floats, or “Black Cows”, as we now call them.
