Holy Cross/Immaculate Heart of Mary is a vibrant Catholic parish community located in

the primarily Mexican-American neighborhood of the Back of the Yards.

It is a mostly young, immigrant, low-income, working class community.

Our baptismal commitment and the mission of Christ are lived by serving the poor

and by working for change that provides for the holistic development and

conscientization of each person in our neighborhood.

In light of this commitment, we invite our families to participate in the life of the parish;

we celebrate our faith and culture, and provide social services for those in need.

We are committed to promoting the education of

our children, youth, and adults; and the formation of small community groups that

provide support and accompaniment in their personal &; spiritual growth.

We strongly value and believe in the building up of lay leaders who

are committed to being agents of change in the neighborhood, the local Church, and the city.

Our leaders strive to model hospitality by building relationships that

communicate Christ’s mission through our parish services.
