Gifts Of Your Time And Talent
Our parish serves the needs of the neighborhood and approximately 3,000 people who attend Sunday services. The week is filled with activities which serve hundreds of people.
The parish can only operate these programs because we count on the support and help of many volunteers throughout the year. We are grateful for the sharing of time and talents, which make all the difference in the success of our programs/services. Here are some ways you can give of time and talent:
Be an INDIVIDUAL VOLUNTEER
Over the years, volunteers have worked tirelessly, sharing their time/talents with the parish. Without their help, we wouldn't have been able to provide needed services/programs for our community.
Some examples of sharing of your time and talents:
Catechist, tutor, free income tax program, fundraising committee, Quinceanera program, help with different activities throughout the year, monthly breakfasts at Holy Cross Church, Casa Catalina Food Pantry etc.
We always need welders, plumbers, gardeners, landscapers, electricians, and cleaning services at various HCIHM locations.
Do you have a time/talent you would love to share? If so, please contact Maria Vazquez at mariav@hcihm.org.
Participate as GROUP/CORPORATE VOLUNTEERS
You need not be a member of HCIHM to volunteer your time/talents for our community. We work with groups of people who volunteer to make a difference. In 2008, the John Buck Company sponsored a volunteer day at our Casa Romero building. This building is used for our afterschool program and our Kid's Cafe after school meal program. We received over $20,000 in donated supplies and labor. Over 40 volunteers painted, did landscaping, installed new mini blinds in the rooms, installed new carpeting in the stairways, and helped clean up. They worked with contractors who donated their time and supplies. We are very thankful for this opportunity that enabled us to get needed work done in one of our buildings that which serve our community.
One recent example of volunteering was on August 26, 2008 when The John Buck Company brought new life through repairs and fix-up to Casa Romero.

You can help make a difference in the mission of Holy Cross-Immaculate Heart of Mary Parish!
You can help make a difference in the mission of Holy Cross-Immaculate Heart of Mary Parish!
The gifts of your time, talent and treasure support our mission of helping families and youth in the community. You can help in concrete ways to help our parish continue to be a vibrant source of service to the community.
Sharing the gift of time - We are very grateful for the many volunteers that give of their time to help make our programs a success. We have volunteers offering their time guiding young people in many ways, including helping kids with their studies, in recreational activities and with social services. They also serve as catechists and ministers.
Sharing the gifts of talent -Your individual talents can help in a variety of ways. We are always in need of specialized skills to help maintain our seven parish buildings, whether it is painting, electrical, plumbing, cleaning or simply guiding a young person in developing their vocational capabilities. We also need help organizing our fundraisers, which are crucial to our parish.
Sharing your treasures - And finally, your financial support helps support the many diverse programs and services we give to our families and children in the community.
Thanks so much for making a difference!
